The medial-lateral balance
The inside of the hoof is called medial; the outside of the hoof is called lateral
Medial lateral imbalance is when the inner or outer bar is higher than the other.
This can best be evaluated when the hoof is picked up.
This condition leads to
a change of the horse’s balance and to an unavoidable loss of balance
and performance within the hooves.
